AREAS OF FOCUS
Men's Counseling
Many men spend years carrying stress, responsibility, and expectations without having a place to process what they're experiencing. Counseling provides a space to better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, navigate life's challenges, and move toward greater confidence, purpose, and emotional health.
Counseling for Teen Boys
Adolescence can be challenging for both teens and parents. Counseling provides a supportive environment for young men to develop self-awareness, emotional resilience, confidence, and healthier ways of navigating relationships, school, family, and life's transitions.
Couples Counseling
Every relationship experiences seasons of conflict, disconnection, and stress. Couples counseling helps partners improve communication, strengthen emotional connection, rebuild trust, and develop healthier patterns for navigating challenges together.
Professionals, Leaders & Helping Professionals
When you're used to caring for others, leading teams, solving problems, and carrying responsibility, it's easy to lose sight of your own needs. Counseling provides a space to slow down, gain clarity, and navigate the pressures of work, leadership, relationships, and life transitions.

ABOUT ME
Joey Kime, MA, LPC, EMDR Cert.I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor serving men, adolescent boys, couples, and professionals throughout Missouri.I believe meaningful change happens in the context of safe, honest relationships. Therapy provides a space to better understand yourself, navigate life's challenges, strengthen your relationships, and move toward the person you want to become. Before becoming a counselor, and continuing today, I've spent years working in professional leadership, ministry, and corporate environments. Those experiences continue to shape the way I work with clients, particularly those navigating responsibility, burnout, relationship challenges, life transitions, questions of identity, and the pressures that come with leading, serving, or caring for others.Seeking counseling takes courage. My goal is to create a supportive and collaborative environment where clients can slow down, gain clarity, process difficult experiences, and make meaningful, lasting changes in their lives and relationships. As a husband, father, and therapist, I understand that growth rarely happens all at once. Whether you're facing a specific challenge or simply feeling stuck, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you pursue greater self-awareness, healthier relationships, and a more integrated life.
MY APPROACH
Therapy Should Help You Understand Yourself—Not Just Manage SymptomsI believe meaningful change happens when we develop a deeper understanding of ourselves, our relationships, and the experiences that have shaped us.Many of the challenges people face—whether anxiety, relationship difficulties, burnout, shame, or feeling stuck—do not exist in isolation. They are often connected to patterns, experiences, and ways of relating that have developed over time. Therapy provides a space to slow down, reflect, and better understand what is happening beneath the surface. My approach is relational, collaborative, and tailored to each client's unique needs and goals. Drawing from evidence-based practices, EMDR, attachment theory, and interpersonal approaches, I help clients gain insight, process difficult experiences, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change.

SPECIALIZED TRAINING & APPROACHES
EMDR Therapy
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy approach designed to help individuals process traumatic experiences, distressing memories, and patterns that continue to impact their lives today. As an EMDR-trained therapist, I integrate this approach when appropriate to help clients move toward greater healing, freedom, and resilience.
Relational & Attachment-Focused Counseling
Our relationships shape how we experience ourselves, others, and the world around us. My counseling approach helps clients better understand relational patterns, strengthen connection, and develop healthier ways of engaging with the people who matter most.
Trauma-Informed Care
Past experiences can continue to affect our emotions, relationships, and sense of self long after the event has passed. I work with clients through a trauma-informed lens, helping them process difficult experiences while building greater safety, awareness, and resilience.
